JJ Westhoff has an unwavering commitment to safety. Protection and the well-being of our employees, subcontractors, vendors, clients and the general public are at the center of what we do. We have dedicated ourselves to create an environment of safety excellence.
Onsite Safety
Our job sites are under constant supervision by our field supervisors while work is being completed on your project. They are responsible for being fully aware of all of the actions of the employees on the site and immediately handling unsafe situations and dealing with the individual(s) involved in the incident. Our safety department personnel visit project locations to monitor progress and consult with the supervisors about safety hazards and employee performance. All of our personnel are required to wear the appropriate safety attire for their position. This includes, but is not limited to, hard hats, safety glasses, safety-toed footwear and Hi-Vis clothing. We develop specialized emergency response plans for each type of construction job we perform and tailor it to specific job sites. This ensures that in the case of a natural disaster or hazards that occur while on the job, all workers and personnel involved with the construction will be evacuated or taken to shelter.
Safety Training
JJ Westhoff provides extensive training to all employees that will be working on a project. They will be instructed on the safe use of tools and power equipment, proper handling of fuel and lubricants, the use of Personal Protective Equipment, safe loading and unloading of machines on trailers, and operation of equipment at the job site. All of our drivers are subject to wide-ranging DOT and OSHA training. All of our team members are HAZMAT and OSHA 10 Certified.
